The Leadership of the AC Ude's Campaign Organisation of the All Progressives Congress APC ENUGU State, have suspended their Campaign team inauguration earlier scheduled to hold today over the death of a Party Stalwart and one of the founding members of the Party in the state, Engnr Ikechukwu Omenkeukwu.
Comrade AC Ude is one of the leading aspirants for the position of the State Party Chairmanship since he accepted to the calls by his supporters, Party loyalists, friends and well wishers to vie for the position, which he did few days ago.
According to aa statement signed by the Campaign Groups Director General, Hon Okeke Kingsley and sent to newsmen on Friday, after their emergency meeting that was held IN GRA, Enugu, he stated that, the death of Hon Ikechukwu Omenkeukwu, who Until na his death, was the Zonal Caretaker committee Chairman of the Party in Enugu west senatorial zone, is a big los to the Party in the state.
He stated that, the Party are in a mourning mood as a result of the tragedy which is also a time of sober reflection by the Party members.
Hon Okeke however stated that a new date would be communicated soonest.
Part of the Statement Reads:
"The Leadership of Ac Ude's Campaign Organisation, regrets to inform all our Party faithfuls that, the inauguration of our Campaign team which was earlier scheduled to hold tomorrow, Saturday, May 9th, has been suspended till further notice."
"This is to honour one of our deceased Leaders, Engnr Iyk Omenkeukwu, who translated to the almighty God yesterday."
"We apologise for the inconveniences which this Development may have caused you and we also Thank you for your unwavering support so far.*
" We will inform all our supporters and Party faithfuls when the next date is fixed."
