The conundrum that is currently being experienced in the ruling All Progressives Congress APC across the country has taken a different dimension in Enugu State.
Recall that there were online reports that, the former Commissioner for works in Enugu State Barr Ugochukwu Agballa has been recognised by the Leadership of the Party, as the State chairman in the Enugu State Chapter.
The said reports raised a lot of issues and attack from all corners as not only that it was ridiculous, but was also totally shrouded in incongruity; owing to series of petitions written against the ex Enugu works Commissioner over him, not being a member of the Party .
Speaking with Newsmen in the APC National Secretariat Abuja on the condition of anonymity, a top member of the National Caretaker extra ordinary and Convention planing committee of the party, Stated that, the National leadership of the Party never did that.
He stated that, the Party is saddled with the responsibility of settling her internal crisis before the February 2022's National Convention.
"The stories and reports are all lies aimed at causing more trouble and distraction towards the Party"
"As a core member of the Party and part of the the National Caretaker/ Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the APC, i can authoritatively tell you that, it never happened"
"The said person by name, Barr Ugochukwu Agballa has more than 20 petitions written against him and 2 Court proceedings challenging his assumed position in the Party"
"Barr Ugochukwu Agballa 's case is very sensitive as the legal grounds derived From series of petitions wriiten against is something that we Would not like to ignore'
Also Speaking, top member of President muhammadu Buhari's cabinet from Enugu State, who has been touted as the major supporter of Barr Ugochukwu Agballa stated that, they are not in a state of dilemma over Barr Ugochukwu Agballa's case; as the National leadership of the Party are trying to investigate all the complaints and arrive at a Political solution ; to avoid further rancour in the Party.
"Some of our Party members are against Barr Ugochukwu Agballa becoming the State chairman of the Party and have buttressed that through series of uncountable petitions all aimed towards bringing the young man down"
"I am surprised that, they are all being given attention because, i had taught that Enugu's own is a done deal"
