President Muhammadu Buhari today approved the appointment of Mohammed Umar as acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Umar, who is the Head of Operations of the anti-graft agency, is to take charge of the commission pending conclusion of Presidential investigation Panel against erstwhile chair, Ibrahim Magu, who was suspended over 22 allegations.

“President Muhammadu Buhari has also approved that the EFCC Director of Operations, Mohammed Umar, should take charge and oversee the activities of the Commission pending the conclusion of the ongoing investigation and further directives in that regards.” _ Umar Gwandu, the spokesman of The Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN) stated.
