The government of Enugu state, through the Enugu state ministry of youths and sports, has announced plans by the Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi led administration to empower interested Enugu Youths with grants, loans, and other development funds.
The Enugu State Commissioner for Youth & Sports, Hon. Manfred Nzekwe unveiled the plans exclusively to CABLE REPORTERS today, adding that the youth financial empowerment is part of the youth rescue project which is currently ongoing in the state.
Hon Nzekwe, who is equally the Chairman of the Enugu Youth Rescue Project enumerated the objectives of the project to include:
To build an inclusive database of artisans, new startups, and unemployed Enugu state youth.
To train young entrepreneurs on basic knowledge of business development and ensure that their businesses are registered with CAC to qualify them for funding opportunities.
To intervene by proffering direct solution to the long-standing unemployment challenges of the youth, assist start-ups to access funding, and ensure skilled people in the state are up to date with in-demand skills.
He exhorted all Enugu youths to embrace the golden opportunity and actualize the vision of the state government which is to provide gainful employment opportunities for Enugu youths to make the youths gainfully employed and self-reliant.
“I urge “Ndi Enugu” to take advantage of this project in order to help actualize the Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uguwanyi led the administration’s vision of proffering direct solution to the unemployment challenges of youths in the state”. Hon. Nzekwe added.
