The National President of Nkanu Youth Assembly, Edeani M. Edeani has condemned the use of force and extrajudicial killings of Nigerians in Lekki toll gate by the Nigerian Army charging all the youths of Enugu East Senatorial Zone to shun violence, vandalization of public and private facilities, and help ensure that Enugu continues to bask in peace and development which it is known for.
"The right to peaceful association and protest is a fundamental tenet guiding every democratic system, the very reason that saw me in the Enugu peaceful #EndSars protest, because it is just to peacefully make our plights known and it's equally right to demand an end to Police brutality"
"The calculated killing of Innocent youth by the same people that swore to protect them is a clear abuse of power, disregard of rules of engagement, and any infringement of the fundamental right to life of the affected citizens and must be condemned by all."
"At this end, I call on all Enugu youths, and Nkanu youths in particular anywhere in Nigeria to shun violence, vandalization of private and public facilities, and remain the civil and responsible youths we have been."
"Equally, I call on all my Nkanu brothers and sisters in Enugu state to please, obey the curfew order of the state government which is aimed at bringing lasting peace to the state."
"I condemn the destruction of government and private facilities in Enugu metropolis and urge all youths involved to join hands with the peaceful personality of our governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and put an immediate end to it"
"Let's not burn down our home in making our demands known, Nkanu and Enugu state is our home and we must continue to join hands with the leadership of state government to ensure continued peace and development of our state as Enugu has been the most peaceful state in Nigeria "
