The attention of the Deputy Chief Whip Enugu state House of Assembly and the Honourable member representing the people of Igbo-Eze North Constituency 1 Rt. Hon. Ethel Ugwuanyi has been drawn to a malicious publication trending on the social media insinuating that she is casting aspersions on the person of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Executive Governor of Enugu State.
In the said publication
captioned: "Unfulfilled Promises: Embattled Enugu Lawmaker Tells Youths to hold Governor Ugwuanyi responsible", the author in an attempt to tarnish the image of the Honourable member posited that a group known as 'Gburugburu is a goal' has been told by the parliamentarian to hold Governor Ugwuanyi responsible for having neglected them after the general elections.
The Honourable member frowns at such publication which is mendaciously targeted at tarnishing her image and spewing up problems between the award winning Governor of Enugu state and herself.
Hon. Ethel Ugwuanyi averred that at no time did she insinuate that His Excellency neglected the group nor suggested that they hold the Governor responsible.
She is dissociating herself from such statement being credited to her and at the same time advising the general public to be wary of trumped up publications from either the social or regular media.
" I have always been a supporter of Governor Ifeanyi and did not make any statement of such nature"
She also stated that His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi stamped his name in the annals of history as the most popular, people oriented and youth friendly Governor since the creation of Enugu state.
"It is already in the history of the state that, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is the most popular Governor amongst the people which prompted a whooping support that made him to garner over 94% support during his reelection"
"He has always been a servant leader, who believes in giving the dividends of Democracy to the people irrespective of ethnic, Party or Social affiliation"
"I will continue to support him and I am also urging the good people of Enugu State both at home and in diaspora, to always support him selflessly"
