A Socio - Cultural Group from Enugu West Senatorial Zone by name, Enugu West People's Assembly have expressed their sadness over what they call," gross abuse of the Privilege to serve the Masses" which they said were displayed by the Enugu State House Of Assembly Members representing the Enugu West Senatorial Zone by keeping mute to the ongoing anti-people bill proposing a life Pension for Governors their Deputies as well as billions of naira for their wives, which has equally passed the first reading.
In a statement signed by the National Secretary, Hon Tony Ibekwe and sent to newsmen on Wednesday, they stated that, the honorable members have by their actions, betrayed the trust of the people of the zone by allowing the vicious bill to pass the first reading in their chamber.
"We are very disappointed with our State Assembly Members, who kept mute while an evil was about to be perpetrated to the masses who are still Yet to recover from the hardship and hunger occasioned by the corona virus Pandemic."
"It is very appalling that people whom we gave our mandate could turn against our interest all because of personal gratification. It is annoying, despicable and thus not acceptable".
The Group also stated that they would do everything within the ambit of the law, to recall the state Assembly from the Zone, especially, Members representing Awgu, Aninri, and Ezeagu, so as to set a good precedence for others to follow and know that, democracy is for the masses.
"We are vehemently disappointed with Hon Johnson ChukwuObasi, Hon Jane Eneh, Hon Chima Obieze, Hon Chinedu Okwu(Otaka) as they have become objects of oppression by Herods marauding the State.
"We have Started the Process of recalling them so as to show deterrence for others to emulate and we will ensure their recall take effect immediately.
Enugu West People's Assembly however, warned all anti- people political leaders in the Zone, to make a positive U-Turn that will bring Socio-economic development in the Zone.
" All the political leaders from Enugu West Should beware that, our eyes are on them. We will always Work hard to ensure that they give account of their stewardship to the people on whose mandate, they became whatsever that they are in the society today.
