Southern Governors Ban On Open Grazing Is Same As Northern Governors Coming Together To Ban Spare Parts Trading - AGF Malami | CABLE REPORTERS

The Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has expressed disapproval with the ban on open grazing in the southern region of the country.

During an interview on Channels TV on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, Malami said governors cannot deny the freedom of Nigerians to move around the country.

He said, "It's about constitutionality. Within the context of the freedoms enshrined in our constitution, can you deny a right of a Nigerian?

"For example, it's as good as saying the northern governors coming together to say they forbid spare parts trading in the north. Does it hold water?"

The AGF said the announcement by the southern governors does not hold water, and that they should seek to amend the constitution instead.

  1. Our minister said well ~ Nigerians must respect freedom of movement. It's constitutional and I don't need to be a lawyer to know that.. But let me ask a legal question sir. Is it legally right for traders to pay for shops to sell spare parts in the North? Can they trade in free areas in the North without paying for stalls and shops? Is cattle trading a national or private business? What's the difference between legitimate spare parts trader and cow herding? Please help me with legal opinion sir

    1. What well did he say? Motor spare parts dealers do they roam at people's farm and backyards to sell their spare parts? Did they not rent shops and do their business. Do they rape and kill people in their farm lands. Remove sentiments and call a spade a spade. Enough of ethnic bigotry.
