The PDP gubernatorial flag-off in Enugu State on Friday witnessed a new breadth of innovation and colour as the Enugu business professionals in Canada stormed the eastern capital in support of the Enugu State PDP campaign flag-off ahead of the 2023 general election, the event held at Michael Okpara Square, Enugu, saw an intriguing Mobile Billboard, a first of its kind in the Enugu Political history.
The mobile billboard which was rallied round the arena has on it, portraits and compelling campaign messages in support of the candidacy of the Peoples Democratic Party's Candidate in the Enugu governorship poll, Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and it is a brainchild of Enugu Indigenes in Canada. The group, a coalition of professional elites, businessmen and Investors is made up of Canadian-based Enugu citizens who had hitherto endorsed Dr Peter Mbah with full assurance that they will throw their unwavering support and commitments to seeing that Dr Mbah is elected as the next governor of Enugu State come March 11, 2023.
Speaking to CABLE REPORTERS after the event, the Coordinator of the Group, Prince Ibe Otenyi emphasised that the Mobile Billboard is one of the many concepts the professional group has in support of the PDP gubernatorial candidate. He maintained that Dr Mbah's leadership experience and credentials will spark an industrial revolution, generate a significant number of jobs for young people, and change the state's status through a sustained pace of wealth creation, a high standard of affordable education, and a livable environment that allows its residents to reach their full potential. He also underscored that the group chose to support Dr Peter Mbah because of their confidence that he will make Enugu state a safe environment for businesses to thrive through business-friendly policies which will in turn encourage them to return all their companies to Enugu. Noting that the group is set to take the Mbah’s message of hope to every nook and cranny of the state through their innovative initiatives.
Earlier, Group of Five (G-5) Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of Rivers State, Dr Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Engr. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Dr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State in their respective speeches during the well-attended flag off endorsed Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as the right candidate for Enugu guber, reiterated their solidarity and support for the PDP in the state, stressing that Enugu will remain a PDP state.
“Let me assure you that we will all pray for him (Ugwuanyi), the governorship candidate (Dr Peter Mbah) and his deputy (Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai), our colleague (Ugwuanyi) who is going to Senate and the other candidates for the Senatorial, House of Representatives and State Assembly elections in the state.
“We will all give the necessary support and make sure you emerge victorious in these elections coming on February 25 and March 11.” _ Governor Wike of Rivers State.
Other Government functionaries, religious leaders, traditional rulers, Party stakeholders and thousand of supporters graced the occasion.
