Prime Minister of United Kingdom, Boris Johnson introduced new nationwide curbs that will come into effect by the end of the week - and last until December 2.
It comes as scientists predicted NHS beds will become overwhelmed with Covid patients as the overall UK total of cases reached 1,011,660 on Saturday.
The nationwide lockdown is believed to be a measure to help Brits have as normal a Christmas as possible.
Pubs, bars and restaurants will be closed for a month under the clampdown but takeaways and delivery services can still operate.
