The member representing Nkanu East Constituency in Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Paul Nnajiofor who is also the chairman, house committee on Rural Development Community (CSDP), yesterday rolled out cash gifts, wrappers, and other relief items to the over 100 widows and less privileged women drawn from Aguikpa Oruku community, Amankanu community, Amechi Idodo, Eziama-Amechi Idodo, Ohuani Amechi Idodo, Owo, Mbuluowo, Ubahu, Umuode and Oruku Community, the 11 communities that constitute Amankanu/Idodo development zone of Nkanu East local government.
Rt. Hon. Nnajiofor in his remark noted that the affair is his traditional way of celebrating a new year with the less privileged in his constituency, an inspiration he cultivated from the leadership style of the Governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, whom he described as a humble leader, and a priest in politics, whose exemplary leadership always show love and kindness to the people.
"This also a way to thank God for choosing me to represent my good people of Nkanu East, the 13 wards, 35 communities, more than 156 polling units, over 2614 villages that makes up Nkanu East Constituency, I should be able to look out for those I'm better off, show love to the less privileged, in fulfillment of biblical injunctions as a typical Christian politician" Hon. Nnajiofor added.
Mrs. Anayo Agbo, Mrs. Henrietta Ani, and Mrs. Ebere Edeh who spoke on behalf of other beneficiaries thanked God for the gift of Hon. Paul Nnajiofor, whom they described as a generous leader, applauding him for remembering them, they equally took time to pray for him.
Speaking to CABLE REPORTERS, the former Deputy Chairman of Nkanu East local government, Hon. Mrs. Angela Ngene described Rt. Hon. Paul Nnajiofor as a wonderful person, thanked him for his initiative, charging him to continue with his adequate representation of the Nkanu East constituency.
Highlight of the occasion was the distribution of wrappers and cash gifts to the indigents, an empowerment program Hon. Nnajiofor promised to replicate in the other 3 development areas of the Nkanu East constituency.
