The apex youth body of youths in Enugu East Senatorial zone, Nkanu Youth Assembly has passed a vote of total confidence on their President Edeani M. Edeani, calling allegations leveled against him by the former Vice President, Princess NnekaPhilips baseless, politically sponsored and ridiculous.
"That we established that all these sponsored allegations leveled against our national President, Comr. Edeani M. Edeani and this noble association are false, misleading, laughable, disingenuous, and condemnable." the association stated.
According to official communique obtained by CABLE REPORTERS, the association after an emergency meeting with the executives, Local Government coordinators, and advisory board members passed a vote of total confidence on the president, lauding him for his maturity and peace-oriented way of handling the sponsored campaign.
"That we reiterate our vote of total confidence in our national President, Comr. Edeani M. Edeani, who has proven in many ways to be an uncommon, selfless leader whose transparency, humility, integrity, dependability, and accountability remains unquestionable.
That we commend the National President, Comr. Edeani M. Edeani for his profound obedience to our constitution, maturity, strength, and leadership skill he once again demonstrated by shunning discussing our internal issues on social media which is against our constitution as we have many channels of settling grievances.
We equally thank him for accepting to withdraw legal steps against her" the apex Nkanu youth wing said.
They equally established facts on the issues she raised, ascertaining all her allegations to be false, petty, and ridiculous which is all aimed to defame and assassinate the character of the national president.
They enjoined the general public to disregard the claims as she was paid by some pretty quarters whose sole aim is to distract the association, a plot which they described as dead on arrival.
The official statement read:
COMMUNIQUE ISSUED BY NKANU YOUTH ASSEMBLY ON THE ALLEGATIONS RAISED BY THE FORMER VICE PRESIDENT UPON HER RESIGNATION AT A MEETING HELD TODAY 27TH JANUARY 2021 AT BUSH BAR RESORT ENUGU.
We the Nkanu Youth Assembly, the apex body of youths in Enugu East Senatorial zone today after our emergency and fact-finding meeting agreed to issue the following official statements of fact:
1.That we received with surprise the resignation of the National Vice President, Amb. Princess NnekaPhilips but more startling is the online allegations she raised against the National President which according to her letter was the rationale behind her resignation.
An allegation which has kept this reputable organization in the negative limelight for a while now.
2. That the National Executives, Local Government coordinators and Advisory Board members, today met with the National President and establish the following facts from the allegations:
Allegation A: "She alleged that a brother gave the executives 21,000 dollars which the president embezzled."
FACT: We established that about 14 members of the Nkanu Youth Assembly, met our brother, Hon. Nelson Maduka Arum (MAMA) on 25th of December 2019 at his residence.
Mama after interacting with us presented 100 dollars each to everybody in attendance, MAMA never offered the money to anyone to share but personally distributed the money saying "happy Christmas" to everyone on or before handing the money over to each person.
He later went on to say that "THIS MONEY IS FOR THIS PEOPLE AND NOT FOR THE ASSOCIATION".
Everyone in attendance went home with his/her money, including the former VP.
The president equally thanked Hon. MAMA for this gesture before everyone at our Cultural fiesta.
It's totally false and misleading to allege that the President took the money.
MAMA is still our brother and anyone who still has doubts can inquire from him.
Our National President, didn't embezzle any dollar.
ALLEGATION B.
"She alleged that the National President took 5 million naira released for the cultural fiesta."
FACT: we establish that nobody released any 5million for our cultural Fiesta.
It was the President alongside other executives that sourced all the funds which were used for the Fiesta and at no point did anyone release any 5 million naira.
This second accusation is false, misleading, and baseless.
Our President did not receive any 5 million for Fiesta.
ALLEGATION C:
She alleged that our ever-supportive governor gave us 5 million at the venue of the Fiesta
FACT: For record purposes, the president met with the governor at the end of the event and asked for some funds to offset some bills arising from the epoch-making program.
Our governor in his ever benevolent style gave us 1 million naira.
The president informed the association of the money and the officials used it to settle those bills.
Our governor gave us 1milion at FIESTA on the 29th of November 2020 and not 5million.
Anyone close to His excellency who wishes to can verify this.
It's disturbing that someone will allow herself to be used in circulating such false allegations against our President who has on many occasions shown integrity and transparency by summoning emergency meetings just to present to the executives the money that he sourced for the association.
For example, the money for our COVID19 Palliative was given to the president alone and he still brought it to the general knowledge of the association and public, Also an Nkanu son have sent us money through him and asked that his person should not be revealed , that money was equally presented to us by him and many other occasions.
This 3rd allegation against his person is cheap, groundless, deceptive, and untrue.
Allegation D.
She alleged that the President snapped pictures of people's farms, bought rice from the market, and called it our rice.
FACT:The National President formed a rice farm committee headed by Comr. Chijioke Nnamani, the coordinator of Isiuzo local government. Through him we obtain plots of lands at Ochin bridge in Umuhu community.
Mr. Israel Okibe from Amofia in Umuhu community of Eha-Amufu in Isi-uzo local government area leased us the land.
Sir Israel is still alive and all the people who worked with us at the farm can also attest to this fact.
Equally, pictures are attached of the farm, and how it was processed for further clarifications.
This 4th allegation is not just false and nauseating but against everything the association and our president hold in high regard.
ACCUSATION E:
"She alleged that our President embezzled 5million naira meant for our poultry/rice farm"
FACT: We established that the 5million was given to the president who presented it to the executives and general body.
We formed a committee for the project, the committee got 4 plots of land at Umueze and established a structure that can contain at least 10,000 birds.
The project was at the roofing stage before we started the preparation for the cultural fiesta.
Some notable personalities in Nkanu land including local government chairman of Nkanu west, youth leaders etc have equally come to inspect the farm.
any interested party can equally go to Umueze and verify it themselves.
Attached equally are the pictures of the farm.
Our president never took any 5 million.
3. That we established that all these sponsored allegations leveled against our national President, Comr. Edeani M. Edeani and this noble association are false, misleading, laughable, disingenuous, and condemnable.
4. That we reiterate our vote of total confidence in our national President, Comr. Edeani M. Edeani, who has proven in many ways to be an uncommon, selfless leader whose transparency, humility, integrity, dependability, and accountability remains unquestionable.
5. That we commend the National President, Comr. Edeani M. Edeani for his profound obedience to our constitution, maturity, strength, and leadership skill he once again demonstrated by shunning discussing our internal issues on social media which is against our constitution as we have many channels of settling grievances.
We equally thank him for accepting to withdraw legal steps against her.
6. That we accept the official resignation of the former Vice President, wishing her well in her future endeavors. We will also communicate the public soon, as the process of a by-election to replace the vacant position will commence shortly.
7. That we call on all those petty quarters sponsoring these laughable schemes to retrace and channel their energy on more profitable things as no amount of distractions will ever stop this noble association from continuing with our good works, for the love and betterment of our dear Nkanu nation.
8. That all Nkanu youths should not be distracted but should always remember that great sailors learn the art of sailing in the midst of the storm and no one throws stone on a tree that does not bear fruits🍒
NKANU YOUTHS GET READY.. Something good is coming !!!
