Jubilation As Community Union Empower Youths and Women With Cars, 50 Motorcycles, Bags of Rice, Cash Gifts In Enugu | CABLE REPORTERS

It was a moment of celebration in Obe, Nkanu West  Local Government Area of Enugu State, on Friday, when a Community group, Umuikowo Welfare Association, empowered many youths and Women from the community, with 2 commercial cars, 50 Motorcycles, bags of Rice, money and other items to help them support their businesses, develop themselves, shun crime and be self-reliant.

While a majority of the youths got empowered with cars and motorcycles, women received bags of rice and cash assistance.


Presenting the car and motorcycle keys to benefiting youths, the General Chairman of Umuikowo Welfare Association, Chief Sunday Ogbuike (Nkpakara), said the gesture was in line with the aims and objectives for which organization is formed, adding that the vision is to ensure that Umuikowo youths become empowered leaders with a noble source of income, to promote their skills and confidence to ensure that they shun crime but actively develop themselves and their families.

"What the leadership of the Umuikowo Welfare Association is set to do is to support and empower youths as a way of affecting their lives positively. 

"This is the first phase and we will replicate this again for 2nd and 3rd time."

“What we’re striving to achieve is to support our people, empower them and help him to love and contribute to the development of our community.”

Speaking to CABLE REPORTERS after handing over cheques to the beneficiaries, the Chairman of the occasion, Chief Mike Onu, thanked the leadership of the community for the gesture, he challenged the beneficiaries to convert the gifts to tools that would transform their lives and place them to the part of greatness, charging them to shun crime.

The Technical Assistant to Enugu State Governor on youth empowerment, Hon. David Nwachukwu, an indigene of the community, on an interview with CABLE REPORTERS expressed delight, he thanked the leadership of the community for the great work, he pointed out that he's been doing a lot with his office as he shared many materials and protective gears in all the schools of the community during COVID, charging other individuals to emulate the effort all towards the overall betterment of the community.

Some of the beneficiaries, Mr Osita Okereke, Ifeanyi Udeh, Uchenna Nnamani (Youth Leader), Regina Nnaji, Helen Okeke and Ngozi Arum expressed joy, they thanked the community for the gesture promising to utilise the gifts efficiently.
