Enugu Professionals have called for effective citizens engagement in policy formulations and project implementation in Enugu State.
This was the outcome of a robust deliberations and engagements of professionals in the state.
The meeting was aimed at highlighting the performance of the Ugwuanyi administration. It presented an Opportunity for well meaning persons to ask constructive questions bothering on policy formulations, project implementations, accountability from public servants, etc.
The striking moment was after various heads of parastatals had presented milestones of the Ugwuanyi administration through their MDAs, as participants were marvelled at numerous projects that citizens weren't aware of which had led to unnecessary backlash from certain individuals.
It was against this backdrop that Critical stakeholders requested that the government in been accountable to NdiEnugu ensures that citizens are carried along and well intimated on its policies formulation and project implementation as there has been a lacuna all the while.
Participants expressed gladness on the developmental strides of Governor Ugwuanyi especially on the sectors of Rural Development, Support for SMEs and improving on the ease of doing business, Housing, works and Infrastructural Development, health services, education and scholarship to indigent students to mention but a few.
Stakeholders also called for immediate intervention of Infrastructural Development in the metropolis (Enugu urban) by the state government which will in turn boost economic development of the state thereby reducing the rate of unemployment.
