In celebration of Governor Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s second anniversary in office, the Enugu Innovative Youth (EIY) has announced plans to embark on a comprehensive medical outreach starting May 21, 2025. The outreach will cover the three senatorial zones of Enugu State: Enugu East, Enugu North, and Enugu West.
Speaking during a press briefing in Enugu, President of EIY, Hon. Edeani M. Edeani, stated that the initiative is part of the organization’s commitment to community health and in honor of Governor Mbah’s transformative leadership over the past two years.
“This outreach is a direct way to support our communities and celebrate the remarkable progress under Dr. Mbah’s administration, particularly in healthcare delivery,” Hon. Edeani said.
Also addressing newsmen, Secretary of EIY, Hon. Barr Emmanuel Nyia, emphasized that the outreach will include free consultations, drug distribution, health education, and minor medical interventions tailored to local health needs.
The zonal coordinators, and Hon. Okwueri Emmanuel Chinedu (Enugu West Zone), Okpe Kyrian K. (Enugu North Zone), and Hon. Atu Chris N. (Enugu East Zone), noted that the outreach aims to “take essential healthcare services directly to the grassroots, especially targeting rural communities with limited access to quality medical care.”
The outreach will begin in Enugu East Senatorial Zone before moving across the other zones. Thousands of residents are expected to benefit from the exercise, which is also seen as a show of solidarity and support for the people-oriented governance style of Governor Mbah.
The medical outreach is one of several activities lined up by EIY to mark the Governor’s two-year anniversary on May 29, 2025, reflecting the spirit of youth engagement and civic responsibility across the state.
